"Oh come let us worship & bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our maker", Psalms 95:6. Light of the World gathers as a large church family Sunday mornings to celebrate Jesus Christ - Who He is and what He is doing among us. We long to worship Him with all our hearts. You'll experience his wonderfull presence as we use song, dance, shouts of joy, and quiet awe to express our worship. Because we believe the Bible is true and fully applicable to our lives today, we usually spend a good while teaching the truth revealed in His amazing book. At times a special word or testimony to encourage the church will be given by members of the congregation. We encourage everyone to participate in an orderly way in the meeting. On Friday evenings we focus on prayer and worship, seeking the Lord to move mightily among us and reveal His glory throughout our region. We also use this time for equipping members in the vital ministry of intercession. We believe in the power of prayer and intercession. "When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion..", Matthew9:36. At Light of the World we have committed manpower and resources to several outstanding ministries that are reaching the poor and hurting of our region and the world:

"Jesus said the fields are "while unto harvest... ", John 4:35. Light of the World is developing a missions-mindedness that will mean more people around the world and in our neighborhoods will hear the gospel - the good news of Jesus Christ. We want every member to participate in the "Great Commission" found in Matthew 28:18-20. We help send several members on short-term missions annually. Our missionaries have brought the love of Jesus to the people of Israel, Mongolia, Brazil, Mozambique, Russia, Haiti, Latvia, Peru, Kenva. Poland, and many more nations. We work closely with IAM Missions, a regionally-based missions school and sending ministry. We're also engaged in a mission field right here at home that reaches across the world: the college campus. B.A.S.I.C. (Brothers & Sisters in Christ), brings the knowledge of work of discipleship to students on area campuses that frequently include foreign students. |

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it", Proverbs 22:6. We love children, and we have lots of them to love! We work hard to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children learn to enjoy Jesus! Our children's ministry is for ages 0-12 and is made up of teachers and assistants who make it their goal that children learn how to apply God's Word in developing a lifestyle of worship, obedience and continual reliance on Jesus. On top of all that, they really want children to have fun! Children's celebration begins at 10:30am (or at release from worship) during each Sunday Celebration. |
