"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer..." (Acts 2:46) |
The pattern for life in the cell church is found in the second chapter of Acts and following. The term cell means the basic unit of life. In the context of church life, it means a small gathering of members who meet regularly house to house and serve as the basic unit of the church. In this setting, members of the body are real with each other, hold one another accountable for their walks with God, and employ their spiritual gifts. These efforts receive the full support of the LTW leaders in the form of intercession, leader training, necessary finances, pastoral care, counsel, accountability, and Scripture-based study materials. At LTW, these cell groups are called "REACH Groups". REACH stands for Relationship, Evangelism, Accountability, Care and Hope. With every member trained and operating in their gifts, prayer, evangelism and discipling are effective in an environment where needs are met and Kingdom-building relationships are nurtured. With "REACH Groups" forming a net throughout the Capital Region, LTW will be ready to meet the needs of the many new believers that revival and evangelism will bring. These new believers can be discipled and trained so they can, in turn, train others. Thus, the cell church is the new wineskin into which God can pour the new wine of revival that we might see disciples made who are equipped to bear God’s glory and much spiritual fruit for a lifetime. |
LTW shares a vision with many other congregations to see revival in the Capital Region. The vision necessitates forging a strong bond of unity among the members of the Body of Christ, overcoming denominational, racial, and gender barriers. Toward this end, many Capital District pastors are earnestly praying together weekly in agreement for true unity and revival. LTW is also committed to future joint efforts such as regional outreach events. |
