"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) Our lives must demonstrate the reality of Jesus Christ living in us (Galatians 2:20). Our character must show the increasing fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galations 5:22), and we must be ready to preach the Gospel any time the Holy Spirit provides the opportunity (2Tim. 4:2). |
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20) We must learn how to better live a fruitful Christian life by following the godly example of more mature believers. At the same time, we must lead others by providing a godly example for those less mature (2 Timothy 2:2). |
"It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-13) Every believer is called to be a minister of Jesus Christ. The pastors and elders are responsible to train and equip all members of the body to do the work of the ministry, but it is all the members who will actually accomplish the mission. |
