Why Teams need a sponsor |
Athletes involved in Flag-Football do not get paid a dime. In fact it is the complete opposite - the cost can be extremely high for individuals on a team who do not have a sponsor. Costs to enter the league are only the beginning, these costs do not include equipment needed to field a team (items such as flags, balls, and jerseys for up to 25 players). In addition to two seasons per year (which typically include 8 regular-season games plus playoffs), teams often compete in tournaments that are both local and as far away as Florida. Teams generally need a sponsor to supplement some of the cost but they also want a company or business to play for and be proud to represent. |
How your organization could benefit |
Many teams use part of the sponsor money to place patches on their jerseys designating the sponsor’s emblem or name. Some teams even name their teams after the sponsor. Occaisonally, banners with the company name are displayed at the games. All of these contribute to higher visibility in front of other players, fans, and newspapers. The league website (www.nvffa.com), which gets over 200,000 hits per month, includes all sponsors in alist available to the public. Each sponsor is also given its own page of information on the site listing vital facts about: |

A link to the sponsor’s website is also provided. If a sponsor does not have a website, the league can work with the sponsor to create and host a website for that sponsor for a very minimal cost. Many teams also have websites, and link to their sponsors from their pages as well. All sponsors are associated with an extremely professional league that does a lot of charitable work in the community year round. |
Why your organization should be a sponsor |
Your business can do nothing but benefit from a small investment like this. Let's face it, the teams, players, coaches, and fans associated with flag football are people who are professionals in real life, not on the field. The NVFFA allows sponsors to obtain visibility in the community with potential partners, employees, and customers who may not know of the sponsor otherwise. In addition, the players you would be helping are dedicated people who work and play hard. Who else would risk life and limb on weekends to keep playing a sport they love? Please email the league for teams looking for sponsors, or check out team websites and choose a team with which you would like to partner with. |
Please e-mail the President, David Bentley, with any questions.
