This Week in the NVFFA with A Picker
For 10/24/04

Well since I only missed one pick last week (over loss B$) I’ll give it another try.

Ruff Ryders vs Falcons - Well the only thing you can say is way to hang in there Tommy, it’s very tough in this league to start a new team. However the Falcons do have the weapons to score TD’s I just think the plays are called at the wrong times. Use the wide rush to your advantage and run the fast azz RB up the middle, he’s strong fast and has moves. Bring the LB’s up and then air it out you have nothing to loss. The Ryders are just playing damn good ball on both sides of the fence and will continue to be one of the top teams to beat. Look the usual miss directions and the QB keeper plus look for the quick timing passing. To much for the Falcons.

Unknowns vs Outkast - Can you say found the end zone! The Unknowns have improved every week since the beginning of the year and there record doesn’t speak for itself and how well they are playing. The Unknowns have switched some things up and with the new RB have added some nice running plays. This is helping Dave find the open WR and he is taking advantage of it. The Unknowns defense played very well last week but will be tested with a much better offense this week in the Outkast. The Outkast has also been playing very good this season and are riding a high after beating B$. Look for the Outkast to use their QB as an additional running back and buy time for his receivers to get open. Outkast has always had a nice defense and will surprise you from time to time. Now we always have to have at least one upset so I’m calling it out this week!

Cox vs B$ - HMMMMMMMMMM who is showing up for B$ this week, id B$ shows up with their full strength this will be a good physical game on both sides of the fence. If Cox comes strong then this will really be a good game. Cox is a physical team and has a good rush but B$ matches their good rush with a mobile QB. Unlike most teams B$ is very hard to cover because you never know where the ball is going to end up? Both teams know each other very good and should be an interesting game, the loss of Tony on B$ will hurt B$ but shouldn’t kill them. Cox has been slow moving this season only scoring the required amount to win, but hey a win is a win. This week Cox will have to score at least 21 points to win this game, so Mike needs to come with his A game and everybody on Cox will need to step it up just a bit. Tough game and good contact look for B$ to sneak it out.

Mad Pimps vs Ballers - Power against speed I love these match ups! The Pimps have Jay and his go to guy for the deep threat plus a o line who has been together for along time. The Ballers well their name says it all, they bring it every down. The reason I like this will be the best game of the week is because the teams are opposite, Ballers like to run the ball and do it well but every once in awhile sneak a deep ball in there so heads up! The Pimps they two have a running game but count on the deep ball for the win. Look for Jay to dump passes most of the first half and while he’s doing that he’ll set up the deep ball for the second half. The Ballers are slow rollers and will take a lot of time off of the clock, that’s why most of their games are low scoring on both sides. The idea for the Ballers is just to score last if they do that then they’ll win this game. This is a close game to call and may go into OT but my gut says the Pimps pull this one out.

WAC vs Bruins - No stranger here for two teams that are new to A these teams have seen each other a lot. These teams match up well together both teams have the spirit to win and it’s a joy watching how fired up both teams play and on their sidelines. This game will be won from the team that can handle the mental side of football, both teams will try to talk their way into a win good old fashion SMACK TALKING! The Bruins have surprised many teams this year and have improved their game as an entire team. Bruins are playing team ball when someone makes a mistake someone is there to pick them right up and that’s how you win games. The Bruins also have a very fast WR who will hit you for 1 or 2 big one’s a game. The WAC also play big and love the game, the offense looks good but at times is to much in a hurry, let the play develop and the field will just open up. The WAC’s defense is pretty nice with aggressive conrners which helps the rush making it tough to pass on them. My heart says pick the Bruins but m head tells me WAC is pulling this one off.
WAC 19 Bruins 18

Dawgs vs Hardball Hawks - Dawgs are just to much for the Hawks could be over by half! Prove me wrong…..
Dawgs 29 Hawks 0

DC Badboys vs Warriors AC - Just because BB’s are 0-5 doesn’t make this any less exciting. I give this game - GAME OF THE WEEK - ! The BB’s are so hungry right now I feel bad for the team that catches the BB’s on a high. The Warriors are ready to be the final nail for the BB’s sending them in a team history low 0-6. Look for this game to be bone shattering with people feeling it on Monday. The BB’s need to move the ball and score when in the redzone, go back to what works; screens, slants, QB keepers and finally run the ball give it to Cobra and make him earn his keep! The Warriors will slow roll this one by setting up the deep ball with a lot of little dump passes and then “BANG” the deep one. The Warriors have a good rush and should be on who evers throwing for BB’s. Going to be a good one to watch but I think this is the week for upsets and the BB’s pull it out.
